Washington, D.C. — Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) today sent a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins urging immediate action to protect North Carolina’s flue-cured tobacco farmers who are facing steep financial losses following the collapse of exports to China.
In his letter, Davis highlighted that China has historically been the largest buyer of U.S. flue-cured tobacco, purchasing between 60–65 million pounds annually.
