Washington, D.C. – Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) released the following statement regarding his absence from votes in the U.S. House of Representatives on May 15, 2026, including on H.R. 8469, Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2027, the first funding bill of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 cycle. After voting on Thursday, May 14, Congressman Davis traveled to Fort Benning, Georgia, to participate in Family Day as his son, Justin, completed U.S. Army basic training.

Washington, D.C. Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) and Congressman Eugene Vindman (VA-07) announced their support for H.R. 8772, Diesel Prices Relief Act, which would pause the diesel tax until January 1, 2027 helping farmers and truck drivers better afford their stops at the gas station.

Congressman Don Davis (NC-01), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, joined a bipartisan group of colleagues for a full-day Congressional Delegation visit to the United States Naval Academy, where they met with Academy leadership to discuss the future of military readiness, officer training, and the evolving needs of our armed forces. The group included Representatives Sarah Elfreth (MD-02), Jen Kiggans (VA-02), Wesley Bell (MO-01), and Nick LaLota (NY-01).

Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) stood with eastern North Carolina farmers and voted in support of H.R. 7567, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, which passed the House by a bipartisan vote of 224 to 200. Davis, one of fourteen Democrats to support the bill, fights for eastern North Carolina priorities, including flood recovery, crop insurance, rural water, and the next generation of family farms.
