Eligible individuals, ages 14 to 23, may earn a Congressional Award by setting and achieving challenging goals in the four program areas: Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness and Expedition/Exploration.

Participants earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Congressional Award Certificates and Bronze, Silver, and Gold Congressional Award Medals. Gold Medals are presented at an annual ceremony in June in Washington, D.C.
