Eastern North Carolina — Veterans across Eastern North Carolina gathered in Greenville to ask questions and give suggestions at a roundtable event hosted by Congressman Don Davis. News 12 was at the meeting where Congressman Davis spoke with veterans about the concerns they brought up.
Over 50 veterans and military family members came here to voice their concerns and ideas. Veterans from every branch came together, to share their thoughts on everything from VA healthcare to how their military records are handled.

Officials say topics include national security, border security, updates on the Agriculture Labor Working Group, progress on the Farm Bill, and plans to save Seymour Johnson Air Force base.
A group of moderate, swing-district House Democrats called for Washington to shift its focus to border security just hours after President Biden signed an aid bill to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan into law.
It was a critical weekend in the U.S. House of Representatives, which passed four key pieces of legislation.
The House passed aid for Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific.
It also passed a bill to increase sanctions on Russian assets as well as ban TikTok in the U.S. if the company’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, doesn’t divest in a certain amount of time.
The bills all received bipartisan support in the House. In the Senate, where the bills were packaged, they also received backing from Democrats and Republicans.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Congressman Don Davis is a member of the Armed Services Committee and says he is working to keep hundreds of jobs at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.
Davis said the president’s 2025 fiscal year budget has plans to eliminate a full fighter squadron of F-15-E aircraft at Seymour Johnson. Davis recently questioned the Secretary of the Air Force, Frank Kendall.
If this is taken away, it could mean losing jobs in the area.

North Carolina Congressmen Dan Bishop and Jeff Jackson — who are running against each for North Carolina attorney general — differed this weekend on high-profile votes, including whether to provide aid to American allies.
Bishop, a Republican from Waxhaw, voted in favor of a bill to strengthen the border, which failed to pass. He also voted for aid to Israel, but against aid to Ukraine and to help Pacific nations to counter China.
