Congressman Don Davis Visits U.S. Cargo Systems to Highlight the Economic Advantages of Strengthening  Domestic Manufacturing

WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) visited the U.S. Cargo Systems facility in Goldsboro alongside the Vice-Chair of the Democratic Caucus, Congressman Ted Lieu (CA-36) yesterday.

“U.S. Cargo Systems is a global leader in cargo operations. Seeing firsthand the technology involved in cargo operations was inspiring,” said Congressman Don Davis. “The First Congressional District of North Carolina has a robust manufacturing sector that creates thousands of high-paying jobs. I support our local industries, which are essential to the broader manufacturing and military landscape.” 

U.S. Cargo Systems, a part of the TransDigm Group, in Goldsboro, employs nearly 100 eastern North Carolinians. The company is a U.S. manufacturer of highly engineered aircraft components and systems used on U.S. commercial and military aircraft. U.S Cargo Systems designs and develops cargo handling and aerial delivery system technologies. The TransDigm Group owns one operating unite iin North Carolina and eleven operating units in California.

In 2021, North Carolina’s total output for manufacturing was $102.34 billion, which supports 474,000 manufacturing jobs across the state. The average pay for these jobs is over $79,900 a year. In North Carolina’s First Congressional District, there are over 48,000 manufacturing jobs.
