Congressman Don Davis Releases End of First Term Report, Highlighting Legislation, Constituent Casework, and Strong Bipartisanship Track Record
Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) marked the culmination of his first term in Congress by unveiling the 118th Congress In Review Report. The report highlights legislative achievements and successful constituent casework wins, underscoring his commitment to North Carolina’s First Congressional District.
"The 118th Congress presented numerous challenges, yet we remained committed to supporting eastern North Carolina families. We have worked to foster hope and optimism by preventing job losses, transforming our healthcare system, and delivering vital assistance to farmers and disaster survivors in western North Carolina,” said Congressman Don Davis. “While we have made significant strides in advocating for the critical issues facing our families, there is still much work to be done.”
SIGNIFICANT HIGHLIGHTS:
- Voted for over $8 billion in disaster assistance for NC and $674 million in agriculture assistance.
- Over $389 million in federal grant funds were distributed to invest in eastern North Carolina communities.
- Secured over $13 million in Community Project Funding in Fiscal Year 2024.
- More than $5.7 million from federal agencies returned to eastern North Carolina families, veterans, and seniors.
- Introduced 26 bills.
- Held over 1,500 meetings with constituents, stakeholders, and community leaders to ensure residents' voices are heard and amplified in Washington, D.C.
- Resolved 1,872 constituent casework requests.
- Ranked #1 for seeking common ground and ranked the #2 most bipartisan Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
