Congressman Don Davis Releases 2025 Year-End Review, Highlighting A Year of Results for Eastern North Carolina

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) released his 2025 NC-01 Year in Review detailing 365 days of progress and results for eastern North Carolina. The report highlights major legislative accomplishments reflecting his ongoing commitment to North Carolina’s First Congressional District.
 

“Our focus is simple: strengthening eastern North Carolina's economic future. We have met people where they are, families, workers, farmers, small business owners, and veterans, to hear firsthand how rising costs and limited market access are squeezing household budgets and affecting their lives,” said Congressman Don Davis. “Even with progress, too many families are struggling to get ahead. We will keep pushing for lower costs, a stronger local economy, and good-paying jobs so the American Dream remains within reach here in the East.”

 

SIGNIFICANT HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Introduced 26 bills.

  • Returned over $9.2 million from federal agencies to eastern North Carolina families, veterans, and seniors.

  • Resolved 843 constituent casework requests.

  • 59,000 pieces of constituent correspondence.

  • Advanced innovation and regulatory clarity as the ranking member of the Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development Subcommittee with the U.S. House passage of the CLARITY Act and GENIUS Act.

  • Received the Congressional Management Foundation’s Best of Bipartisan Engagement & Collaboration award.

  • Secured over $48.03 million in Community Project Funding in Fiscal Year 2026. 

  • Voted to reopen the federal government after the longest shutdown in American history, securing critical community investments, including:

    • Town of Whitakers Community Center – $1.015 million

    • Gates County Community Center – $1 million

    • Bertie County Fire Department Critical Equipment – $1 million

    • Town of Williamston Fire Ladder Truck – $1 million

    • Bertie County Emergency 911 Center – $1 million

    • Town of Plymouth Public Health & Safety Facility Upgrades – $1 million 

    • Greene County Senior Center of Excellence – $1.015 million

    • SJAFB Combat Arms Training and Maintenance facility – $41 million 

  • Voted for the National Defense Authorization Act, which included a 3.8% pay raise for all servicemembers and 17 amendments for eastern North Carolina:

    • SJAFB Child Development Center – $54 million

    • MCAS Cherry Point F-35 Aircraft Sustainment Center – $40 million

    • MCAS Cherry Point Flightline Utilities Modernization Project – $15 million
