Congressman Don Davis Reappointed to the United States Air Force Academy Board of Visitors

Congressman Don Davis(NC-01) announced House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has appointed him to serve a second term on the U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors.

“As a veteran and a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, I am grateful to continue serving on the Board of Visitors,” said Congressman Don Davis. “I look forward to more engagement with cadets as they prepare to become future leaders and to ensure they have the tools to serve our country as we face growing threats.”

The U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors is a federal advisory committee composed of appointees by the President, Speaker and Minority Leader of the House, Majority and Minority Leaders of the Senate, and the Chairs and Ranking Members of the House and Senate Armed Services Committees. The role of the Board is to act as an independent civilian advisory council and to provide recommendations on the curriculum, instruction, discipline, and other matters related to the U.S. Air Force Academy. 

Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy appointed Congressman Davis to his first term on the U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors. 

Congressman Davis is the first African American U.S. Air Force Academy graduate elected to Congress. He served eight years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force. Congressman Davis is the vice ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee and serves on the Tactical Air and Land Forces and Readiness Subcommittees.
