During Congressman Davis’ “Live the Dream Down East” Tour, He Hosted Three Town Halls Listening and Answering Questions Directly from Constituents About Rural Infrastructure, Health Care, and Education.

GREENVILLE, N.C. – This week, U.S. Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) hosted his first round of town halls across North Carolina’s First District at the start of his “Live the Dream Down East” tour. During these public, community-focused events in Ahoskie, Henderson, and Plymouth, Congressman Davis heard directly from the constituents.

“The most important part of my job is listening to the people of the First Congressional District,” said Congressman Davis. “I am grateful to have had the chance to listen and discuss the concerns of constituents from across the District and how these conversations can help shape my work in Congress. We need all hands on deck to enhance the quality of life and restore our ability to live the American Dream in the East.”

During the town halls, Congressman Davis gave his constituents an update on his legislative work, focussing on the introduction of H.Res.122, a resolution expressing congressional support for Medicaid expansion, relaunching the State Medicaid Expansion Caucus to convey the urgency of expanding access to vital health care, and working on the House Agriculture and Armed Services Committees ensuring residents of North Carolina’s First District have the resources they need to survive while boosting our local economies. Congressman Davis also addressed constituent concerns related to broadband connectivity, healthcare, education, child nutrition, and strengthening our workforce.

This is Congressman Davis’ first round of town halls since his swearing-in ceremony in January. In addition to the town halls, Congressman Davis spent his district work week meeting students and hearing from local farmers, educators, community leaders, and stakeholders about ways the federal government can help ease obstacles residents face daily.
