“Pies of Thanks is about showing appreciation for the unsung heroes of our communities — our first responders and 911 telecommunicators. Law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency services personnel stand unwaveringly on the front lines of our security and healthcare systems, especially during the holidays, ensuring safety for all,” said Congressman Davis.
The second annual "Pies of Thanks" Thanksgiving tour is a gesture of appreciation on behalf of eastern North Carolinians for the unwavering dedication and service exhibited by those on the front lines. Congressman Davis personally delivered pies as tokens of appreciation, symbolizing the community's gratitude towards these essential personnel.
The Tour kicked off at 7:45 AM at the Greene County Operations Center in Snow Hill, NC. From there, it continued through Wilson, Pitt, Martin, Bertie, Washington, Tyrrell, Chowan, Perquimans, Pasquotank, Gates, Hertford, Northampton, Halifax, Warren, Vance, Franklin, Nash, and Edgecombe counties.
The journey's final stop was at the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office in Tarboro, NC, concluding the second annual "Pies of Thanks" Thanksgiving Tour. The tour became a symbol of recognition for those who tirelessly safeguard our communities 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
