Congressman Don Davis Announces Vital Grants to Build Infrastructure Across Eastern North Carolina
GREENVILLE, N.C. – Today, Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) announced the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development awarded North Carolina's First Congressional District grant funding to boost economic development and improve infrastructure across eastern North Carolina.
"These USDA grants prioritize public safety through new and improved fire stations and equipment, updated water infrastructure for rural communities, and next-generation energy technology to help farmers and families save money on utility bills. These critical investments will foster growth and ensure a brighter future in the East,” said Congressman Don Davis.
The USDA Rural Development Investments approved the following grants for NC-01:
- Carolina Poultry Power: $1,000,000
- Murdock Webbing Company Inc.: $682,771
- Town of Sharpsburg: $4,800
- Town of Nashville: $1,338,750
- Edgecombe Water and Sewer District No.6: $2,327,000
- Speed Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.: $100,000.00
- Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program: $300,000
