Congressman Don Davis Announces Grant for East Carolina University to Address Pollution Prevention
GREENVILLE, N.C. — Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) is delighted to announce EastCarolina University was a recipient of a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grant aimed tosupport businesses with technical assistance to develop and adopt practices that prevent pollution at the source in local communities.
“Ensuring safer, cleaner drinking water to enhance the well-being of our families across eastern North Carolina is crucial,” said Congressman Davis.
East Carolina University received the following grant:
- Pollution Prevention Grant: $563,932
The Center for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering’s proposed project will provide technical assistance to manufacturing facilities in distressed communities to reduce the use and release of hazardous substances and increase water and energy efficiency. Technical assistance will include on-site general and targeted technical assessments, industry roundtable discussions, training courses, and public outreach. The proposed project will improve human health and the environment in distressed communities by reducing the release of pollutants and contaminants.
