July 9, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) is pleased to announce that the Department of Defense has awarded Lockheed Martin, Corp. a fixed-priced, indefinite-quantity contract to procure aircraft sustaining engineering and logistics support services. The funds would go towards C-130J aircraft at nine installations in the United States, including the five HC-130J aircraft permanently based at Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City.

“Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City is crucial, and this federal investment will ensure a stronger future here and demonstrate our commitment to the men and women serving our country,” said Congressman Don Davis. “The aircraft stationed at Elizabeth City support jobs and livelihoods in northeastern North Carolina, and play a critical role in emergency response and data gathering during natural disasters.”

A guaranteed but not yet specified fraction of the $66.9 million contract award will benefit Elizabeth City. The contract is essential for augmenting depot-level maintenance and global fleet operations for the Coast Guard’s HC-130J fleet out of the Coast Guard’s Aviation Logistics Center in Elizabeth City, NC.
